On February 1st, 2019, H.E. Dr. David Goldwin Pollard presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
According to High Commissioner, “Guyana and Sri Lanka have had a long history of friendly relations during the period in which we both emerged into independence and sought to solidify our young nations’ senses of identity and self. As fellow Commonwealth nations, our ties have been strengthened by common pursuits ranging for collaborations at the United Nations and other multilateral fora through to the exertions of our cricketing heroes on the fields of Sri Lanka and the West Indies. In recent times as the rapid human and economic development of our peoples continues apace Guyana looks forward to the growth of our nations’ friendship and fruitful engagements within the context of increasing South-South cooperation. “
H.E. Dr. Pollard is Guyana’s High Commissioner to India with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh, Indonesia and now, Sri Lanka.
